"It’s a pleasure to welcome you to one of my favourite places in the world, Noosa. Known for its pristine beaches, natural wonders, and world-class dining, Noosa is also the perfect venue for the 20th Biennial Anglican Schools Conference (ASCENT).
This year’s conference theme, “Walk Gently,” invites us to deeply explore sustainability, Indigenous perspectives, faith, student agency, and environmental stewardship. As we gather, we’re excited to connect with Church leaders, educators, and colleagues from Anglican schools across Queensland. Let’s inspire meaningful action and open conversations as we work toward a more harmonious and responsible world. We can’t wait to welcome you back to ASCENT 2025!
Throughout the conference, we’ll host a range of esteemed local and national speakers who will share insights and expertise on topics related to “Walk Gently.” Schools have also been invited to participate in a Showcase, where representatives will present unique and inspiring initiatives connected to our theme. Chaplains’ Day, held on Thursday, 1st May, will offer chaplains the chance to network and reflect on the impactful work they do in our schools.
The conference opens with Eucharist at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, 2nd May, at Peppers Resort Noosa. This stunning location provides an ideal setting for delegates to gather, spark discussions, and strengthen our shared mission as educators in Anglican schools. Surrounded by Noosa’s breathtaking beaches and bushland, we hope delegates find inspiration in the natural beauty of this place.
I look forward to welcoming you to Noosa."
