Stuartholme is a Catholic day and boarding school for girls, founded in 1920, perched on a picturesque hilltop just six kilometers from Brisbane's CBD
Set amid the bushland backdrop, the new primary building makes a strong connection with nature. Inspired by the eucalyptus tree, the design reflects the textures and hues of the Australian landscape, harmonising with its natural surroundings. As a canvas for learning, the primary building sets a precedent for how educational spaces can create emotional comfort, visual calm and environmentally connected learning.
The tour also showcases the upgraded boarding facilities designed with personalised elements, fostering a sense of place, ownership, and belonging while honouring 124-year heritage architecture.

Mancel College Building 1 establishes a new benchmark for learning spaces across the school’s future masterplanned expansion, and it also serves as a prototype, enabling us to test and refine certain elements before the design of subsequent stages.
Both the masterplan and design of Building 1 were guided by evidence-based research into the role that educational facilities can play in meeting the unique needs of children with Language Disorder.
