This 4-story centre for learning and innovation positions itself as interactive, engaging and directed towards the future of education through its immersive learning approach, flexibility, 24/7 access and community engagement.

A yearlong study on education and the future of learning and teaching was conducted to highlight reality, possibility and future projection of insitu and remote access to education.

The Bob Marshman Construction Training Centre is Queensland’s first certified Passivhaus training facility. It is designed as a living laboratory that explores emergent passive thermal design principles. The BMB adopts a wide range of innovative sustainable initiatives including an emphasis on Australian made, locally manufactured, robust, and easy to maintain materials with lower embodied carbon and opportunities for end-of-life cycle reuse and recycle. The building provides a quiet learning environment with an exceptional indoor air quality and tells an important story to educate its occupants on best practices as related to global climate crisis and the building industry’s journey towards Net Zero.
