Everton Park Library honours the area’s timber milling history and seamlessly integrates into its parkland backdrop. Embracing the natural surroundings, the design mitigates noise from a nearby road, whilst creating a peaceful space for learning. The library wraps around an existing tree canopy, with a generous outdoor space offering connection to the adjacent park. Inside, natural light floods the interiors, creating a serene and inviting at-mosphere. The library features a playful children’s area designed to spark imagination and curiosity. The new library unites people, place, and nature, enhancing functionality while celebrating the landscape and local heritage.

Rewarded with a Category 2 win in the 2021 LEA awards, the Upper Campus Precinct at Hillbrook Anglican School, along with the subsequent redevelopment of the Art Technology Precinct represent the culmination of a significant capital works program. This ambitious project involved the rebuilding of over 50% of the tightly constrained co-educational campus over a 28-month period.
Brisbane’s sub-tropical climate has allowed the redevelopment to respond to site by incorporating, at its heart, an equal focus of both the built and natural environments and by blurring their interface reinforcing the importance of both to an effective learning environment
