ABSTRACT: School environments are frequently designed
both socially and physically in a way that relies on external motivators. But

to setting goals, are we preparing our school graduates for the opportunities
and responsibilities they will have when they leave school? This presentation
will explore ways we might build young people’s capacity to understand and
nurture their internal motivators to influence personal agency and self-determination
