Invitation from the President

Dear Colleagues,

It is with the utmost pride and pleasure I extend my invitation to each of you to join us at the Annual PASS Conference to be held at Mantra, Lorne from 15th – 17th May, 2019 inclusive. The conference theme this year is “Me, Myself & The World: Empowering Student Agency” and this year’s Conference Committee have selected exceptional key note speakers, organised informative and stimulating workshop sessions, and ensured that our students’ voices are heard throughout the Conference. This year, to bring authentic student voice to the fore, students from the South West Region’s specialist schools have been invited to speak at the conference at some of the workshops during their inaugural Specialist School Student Leadership Camp. They will talk about their experiences at school, their hopes for the future and the impact of voice and agency in their own learning journeys.

As always, the conference provides amazing collegiate, educational and inspirational opportunities for all delegates and we encourage you to bring along your leadership team to experience first-hand, the wonderful opportunities unveiled. This is PASS’s major learning experience of the year and a tradition that we continue to be very proud of.

At Mantra at Lorne you can make yourself at home in one of the guestrooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless Internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include phones, as well as desks and coffee/tea makers. You can also take time to pamper yourself with a visit to the full-service spa. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including outdoor tennis courts, an indoor pool, and a spa tub. Mantra Lorne is located in the heart of Lorne, Mantra Lorne is close to Lorne Surf Life Saving Club and Lorne Country Club. This 4.5-star hotel is within the vicinity of Teddy's Lookout and Erskine Falls.

The Conference this year will be preceded by a Welcome Bulgarian BBQ on the Wednesday night and a celebration dinner Thursday night for your enjoyment.

I’m sure this conference will be a highlight in the PASS 2019 calendar and I urge you all to take advantage of the early bird registration opportunity to ensure your place at a great affordable price.

Thanks and regards,
