Louise Browne is Grimshaw’s project leader for the Arthur Phillip High School and Parramatta Public School, Australia's first future focused high rise education facility. She has led the multidisciplinary design team and a complex group of stakeholders to develop a world leading educational brief for the new vertical mode with the New South Wales Department of Education.
Louise has more than 14 years’ international experience designing large scale and complex projects. Prior to joining Grimshaw, Louise worked at heneghan.peng.architects on the Grand Egyptian Museum, Convention and Conservation Centre in Cairo and in RMJM’s global transport studio in Asia.

This session will look at the experience of the Department in generating its first large scale multi storey school.
Biography
Andrew Cortese is joint managing partner of Grimshaw’s Australian offices.
He specialises in urban and regional master planning at scales ranging from precincts to cities and the architecture of state significant projects.
Andrew’s ongoing contribution to science and learning includes award winning laboratories at the University of New South Wales and the state’s first vertical high-school in Parramatta, a prototype for future-focused education facilities in Australia.
Andrew’s other areas of expertise include mixed use tall-buildings and cultural buildings, such as the precinct master plan for the Sydney Opera House renewal project.
