WELCOME FROM THE 2022 CONFERENCE ORGANISING COMMITTEE
On behalf of the conference organising committee of The Future of Apprenticeships: Perspectives from Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia striving for excellence, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to be apart of a leading event focused on reigniting apprenticeships in Australia and connecting like-minded international collaborators, government stakeholders, industry participants, group training organisations, unions and educational institutions to build economic prosperity by working together.
The aims of this conference are to:
- Critically examine and reimagine the current apprenticeship system in Australia, drawing on successful experiences in Switzerland and New Zealand
- Ensure that people that take up apprenticeships in Australia achieve success in their chosen field
- Explore best practice, policies and programs that can future-proof our current skills supply and manage the varying demands on our labour market
- Stimulate industry interest to engage with new and innovative apprenticeships that will meet our future economic needs, and
- Explore opportunities to develop the industry leaders of tomorrow
The planning of the conference is well underway and promises to be an excellent opportunity to network and connect with leaders in the vocational education and training sector. The conference will include a full program of invited speakers, workshops, facilitated debates, social activities and tours, with multiple opportunities for interaction between delegates and sponsors and for showcasing products and services. The premier social event of the conference will be held at the conclusion of the Melbourne-based program, which will be a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends in person for the first time in two years. The program also includes an optional bus tour of regional Victoria and activities showcasing our award-winning regional makers, growers, crafters and creators, and a Partner’s Program for delegates whilst in Melbourne (subject to minimum participants).
The Future of Apprenticeships: Perspectives from Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia striving for excellence will attract delegates from Australia and around the world, including policy makers and political influencers, industry and association leaders, sector champions, vocational education and training practitioners, academics, researchers and those that facilitate and support apprentices to achieve success in their chosen field. The exhibition space for our sponsorship partners is an integral part of the conference, presenting the opportunity to raise profiles and liaise directly with delegates. The exhibition will be located within a central hub with delegates meeting to enjoy the catering and engage during the day.
