Class of 2040 – Future-focused Learning Environments,
Bhavneet Singh Principal, Consultant Curriculum Support, Department of Education

As we reimagine education, we need to keep the focus on unlocking the potential of every student and equip them with the skills, knowledge and values they need to thrive in life and to play a positive role in the world around them. The positive learning environments are a combination of physical and virtual space, and the social, cognitive and emotional circumstances in which learning takes place. In this session we will explore physical and virtual spaces, and the social, cognitive and emotional circumstances in which learning takes place. We will look at some examples of learning environments impacting student learning, ways in which learning is shaped as a result of the learning environment, practical tips for providing supportive learning environments, and attempt to design a space for the class of 2040.
